Mini carver
The carver is made with two 2 inch conduit clamps
welded to ½ inch rod.
Then the blades are bent out to a close fit
to the sides of  the mixing bucket. About 1/2 to 3/4 inch
The carver type Muller uses an S shaped blade instead of wheels like a blender.
It slings and folds the sand against the sides of the bucket to get the mulling action.
I got this idea from Duwayne a member of the Hobbicast group. You can see pictures of his on
Scott Hites muller page. His can do a hundred pounds at a crack. As it turns out the carver
runs better at higher rpm and is a better match for the drill press. It handles 20-pound batches with no problems. This  gets around the 10 pound limit of small wheel type. This is closer to the size batch I was shooting for
when I started this madness : )

The next step is to come up with a drive train to
make the Mini a stand-alone.
While the drill press works the down side is over time I am afraid that the dust and grit will play hell with the quill and bearings. If you have a small sand pile this might not be to big of a problem. If you go this rout make sure that the bucket is well anchored and the muller is centered. This is after all a hobby not an extreme sport
